3. CHARACTERISTICS OF AN IDEAL RELATION BETWEEN EDUCATION AND
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
A successful education system (Fig. 3.1) should have a dual aim,
namely:
(a) to provide well educated and/or trained persons to function in contem
porary technology and organization production lines with a minimum of
specific site training, and
(b) to be at least one step ahead of the contemporary state of the science
in order to:
(bl) revise studies curricula according to the forthcoming technological
changes, and
(b2) provide actual production lines with stimuli and/or proposals for
improvements or implementation of new techniques.
